Welcome to issue 10 of +The Full Bleed, where we go between the panels to cover the business of comics, pop culture, and genre entertainment.
In today's video -- and my apologies, this one is several days overdue -- I cover Jim Starlin's newest work for +Marvel, The Infinity Relativity.
+Heidi MacDonald at The Beat has the details on the forthcoming graphic novel, and its best-selling predecessor. Why am I interested? Something Joe Quesada said in a San Diego Comic-Con interview with John Siuntres of the Word Balloon podcast.
I'm paraphrasing here, but in essence he said that if you want to know where Marvel is headed with development of the movie and TV universes, study which comic book titles are getting top names and big promotion in solicitations. Starlin has one of the biggest names in comics and to this day remains one of my favorite creators.
In an interview with Marvel's Ben Morse, Starlin explained a bit about what he has planned for The Infinity Relativity:
"Both the THANOS ANNUAL and THANOS VS. HULK take place before THANOS: THE INFINITY REVELATION. THANOS: THE INFINITY RELATIVITY starts up a few months after the first graphic novel. All the main characters have had time to adjust, somewhat, to their new circumstances: Thanos in his revitalized relationship with Mistress Death, Adam Warlock with his new existence, and Annihilus with the changes that occurred in THANOS VS. HULK."Click here for John's the full SDCC interview with Quesada plus Image Expo comments from publisher Eric Stephenson and creator interviews.
